Bobby D. Stringer, 79, of Weston, Louisiana passed away on June 9th, 2021 in Ruston. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 13, 2021, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston. Interment will follow at Chatham Cemetery in Chatham, LA. Visitation will be Sunday, June 13, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston.
Bobby was born in Eros, Louisiana on July 17, 1941. Although he lived the majority of his life in Northern Louisiana, he also spent some time in Oregon as a young boy. He completed high school in Chatham, Louisiana, where he was on the basketball team. After graduating high school, he earned an associate’s degree in Business at Bish Mathis Institute and enlisted in the U.S. Army. Bobby was honorably discharged after three years of Army service as a result of injuries from a car accident.
He spent the remainder of his life working for various oil and gas companies as a Lease Operator, where he worked until weeks before his death. Among other things, Bobby was known for his loyalty and commitment to a job well done. He sincerely wanted the best for those in his inner circle, and was a man of his word. He generously provided for his family throughout his life, and now, even in death.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Blanche Stringer. He is survived by one sibling, Nancy Evans; his only biological child, Melissa Stringer; and three step-children, Suzanne Weeks, Bobby Shaw, and Chris Shaw. He is also survived by his significant other, Peggy Richardson, multiple grandchildren, and two nephews.
