Bobbie Sue Hogan Lann died on November 28 at the age of 83 at her home in Ruston, LA. A Ruston native, she is survived by her sister, Jeannette Hogan Thompson, stepson Robert Lann, stepson Richard Lann, and stepdaughter Alice Peterson, niece, Laura Thompson, nephew, Jimmy Thompson and his wife Kelly. She is also survived by a number of grandchildren, great nieces, and great nephews. She had a special relationship with Jim and Margaret Davison and helped raise their children James, Will and Sarah Margaret. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Lann, and her parents, James Lumpkin and Casceil Hogan. Special thanks to Gracie Thornton and caregivers Barbara Kimble and Dejah Richburg.

Bobbie Sue was a graduate of Ruston High School and Louisiana Tech University and a lifelong Bulldog and Bearcat fan who always stayed until the end of the game. She was a teacher, guidance counselor, and principal in the Ruston city schools, where she especially valued her work mentoring student teachers and counseling students. She touched many lives through her career in education.

Bobbie Sue was a longtime member of the Pierian Club and served the club as President.

She was also a lifelong member of Temple Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, and involved in the Myrtle King Lunch Bunch and Upward Basketball.

Visitation will take place at Temple Baptist Church at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 1, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 A.M. Officiating will be Dr. Reggie Bridges and Jim Davison  with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Will Davison, Bob Lann, Ben Lann, John Oakes, Adam Thompson, and Tyler Robinson.
