Robert E. “Bob” Sale, age 71, of Monroe, Louisiana, passed away on January 24, 2024 at 12:54 pm from a brief illness with his family at his side holding his hands. Bob was preceded in death by Robert Alan Sale (Father), Louise Duncan Sale (Mother), and Mitsy Garrison (Sister). Bob is survived by his loving wife, Sandy, daughter Tara Sale Brown [Michael], son Rob Sale [Amanda], stepson Jason Johnson [Jamie], including five grandchildren, Kelsey Hudson [Adam], Davis Brown, Tyler Brown, Tripp Sale, Briggs Sale numerous nieces, nephews and many, many dear friends.
Bob was a graduate of Neville High School Class of ’71. If you talked to Bob about his time in high school, Bob would tell you he was the “Class Valedictorian” and the MVP in every sport. He had a way of telling “stories.”
Bob was the owner/operator of Bob Sale Gift & Camera, a fixture in Northeast Louisiana for 77 years. The store was founded in 1946 by his parents Robert and Louise Sale as a Photography Studio. In 1972, Bob stepped up after his father’s death to continue its operations. Bob and Sandy had to change with the times and decided to transition the studio as the official LSU gift store in Northeast Louisiana.
If you saw Bob around Monroe, he was either wearing purple and gold or his camo. Besides being a successful small business owner for over 50 years, Bob was an avid hunter and the epitome of a Louisiana Sportsman.
Bob was involved in his community and in the past has served on the NLU Athletic Foundation Board of Directors, The Lions Club, and Ducks Unlimited. He also volunteered and loved to cook for his church family and friends.
Bob has a group of friends called “The Lunch Bunch.” He loved and enjoyed going to lunch every Monday-Friday for over 40 years with the same group. The family would like to honor the “Lunch Bunch” as Honorary Pallbearers including, Tommy Tyler, Kenny Dyess, Dr. Dennis Warner, Dean Foster, Bill Vallery, and George Doughty. Additionally, the Sale Family would like to recognize two forever friends as Honorary Pallbearers, Rene Simone and Dillard DeLaSalle.

“Grief never ends…. but it changes. It’s a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith …. it is the price of love.”—Author Unknown.
