Funeral services for Mrs. Blanche E. Hicks, 76, of Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 5, 2011 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Rev. Rodney Sanders will be officiating . Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery West Monroe under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Mrs. Hicks was born November 18, 1934 in Darnell, LA and passed away February 3, 2011 in Monroe. Mrs. Hicks is survived by her husband; James W. Hicks, Sr.; 4 children; James W. Hicks Jr. and wife Vicki, JoAnn Dickerson and husband Jim, Patsy C. Lockhart and Richard W. Hicks; 5 brothers, Horace Frith, Glenn Frith, Kenneth Frith, H.L. Frith and Charles Frith; sister, Ruby Costa; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be James Jared Hicks, Jimmy Dickerson, Glenn Frith, Tommy Steen, Eddie Murphy and Bruce Frith. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.

My Granny I would like to say a few words about a woman who was like a mother to me instead of a grandmother. She was the kindest and most gentle person I have ever known. I have never heard her talk bad about anyone in my whole life but if you asked her opinion she was honest and truthful. Her love has always been unconditional. I am grateful GOD allowed me the time that I did have with her. I believe she was a true Angel sent to show everyone what a good and loving person should be. Angels like everyone else has to go home eventually and GOD has finally called her home. In my heart I know she will be watching over us and loving us like always. I will not say goodbye but only see you later. I Love you with all my Heart and Soul Granny!
