Billy James McIntosh, age 87, and one week, was born on August 23, 1936, in Lawton, Oklahoma to George Clyde and Florence (Penland) McIntosh. On August 30, 2023, he stepped into paradise to join his parents, his sister, Barbara Duncan and his brother, Weyman McIntosh.
Bill was an amazing man who excelled at all he undertook. He was a master bricklayer who bricked houses and businesses all over Louisiana and North Carolina. He was known and respected for his excellent workmanship, but especially his business sense, his integrity, and his honesty.
Bill’s greatest passion was his love of sports, especially tennis. He was a talented athlete who played top notch tennis well into his eighties. He pushed himself to excel in running and to keep himself physically fit. He played tennis at the MAC in Monroe. With his phenomenal memory, he was an encyclopedia of information who never forgot the details. He worshipped at First Baptist Church of West Monroe. He was a wonderful father and grandfather who supported every member of his family in every way. He was a friend to everyone who worked for him. He always wrapped us in that quick, heartfelt smile and friendly, happy demeanor.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Judy; his sons, Jay McIntosh and Bill (Deidra)McIntosh; his daughters, Dana Iliff and Kelly (Bobby) Lenox; his grandchildren, Connor and Talor McIntosh, Zachary and Cameron Iliff, Elizabeth (Greg) Watkins, and Ryan Lenox and Luke Lenox; great granddaughter, Piper Noel Watkins, his two surviving brothers, Larry McIntosh and Lynn McIntosh.
Bill loved animals and animals loved him. Memorials may be made to the West Monroe Animal Shelter Fund.
