Mrs. Clinton was born on April 14, 1927, and passed away on January 31, 2024. She is preceded in death by her husband, William David Clinton, Jr.; her parents, William Broadus and Mildred Smith Taylor; and her sister, Doris Lane Taylor Dupuy. Mrs. Clinton was an active member of the Farmerville Methodist Church, where she was a regular attendee at Sunday School, taught children’s Sunday School for many years, and was active in UMW.
Mrs. Clinton earned her BA in Education at Louisiana Polytechnic Institute in 1948 and later did post-graduate work at Tech in that field. She began her teaching career in Calhoun and after her marriage to Mr. Clinton worked with him on the faculty of the Choudrant school system. The Clintons moved to Farmerville—in Mrs. Clinton’s case, back to her hometown of Farmerville—in 1951, and after their children began school, Mrs. Clinton returned to teaching. She served as an elementary teacher at Farmerville Elementary and Eastside schools and as a supervisor before retiring from the Union Parish School System.
Mrs. Clinton enjoyed spending time with her many friends and family members throughout the area. Always a great reader, she was able to spend more time traveling with her husband after they both retired. At home, she was an expert baker, and she was well known for her wonderful homemade cakes.
She is survived by her children, Jean Pittman and husband, Grady; William David Clinton, III; and Cathy Cole and husband, Jeff. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Austin Cole and Matthew Cole; great grandchild, Carsen Cole; sister-in-law, Katherine Tillinghast; nephews Charles and Mark Dupuy; devoted friend, Mary Hill; and a large extended family.
The family would like to express its appreciation to all her sitters, the staff members of Arbor Lake and Elara Hospice, and Dr. Steven Venters.
Visitation will take place at the Farmerville Methodist Church at 301 Anthony St. at 1:30 pm on Sunday, February 4, and Mrs. Clinton’s funeral at 3:00 pm that day at the Farmerville Methodist Church with Rev.
