Beuford entered the Air Force in 1952 and served four years during the Korean War. While home on leave in October, 1954, at a high school basketball game, he met the love of his life, Carolyn Huffman. He always said, “ I took one look at those long beautiful legs and said I’m going to marry that girl”. In May, they would have celebrated 67 years of marriage. They were blessed with three children, seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
After retiring from Davison Transport, his favorite pastimes were working in his garden, tending his bees or fishing in his pond. He loved sharing the fruits of his labor with friends and family, but even more than that, he loved teaching his grandkids and great grandkids the true meaning of work and helping others. He was preceded in death by his parents, Armon and Beulah Taylor and siblings Wesley, Alvin, Opal and Ollie Ruth.
Beuford is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Huffman Taylor; two daughters, Karen Kay Brown (Mike), Dana Lisa Taylor, and one son Thomas “Tommy” Taylor (Carolyn); seven grandchildren, Leslie Younse (Ty), Brandon Washam (Anna), Maggie Tarver (Jarred), Haley Nipper (Weldon), Taylor Pearce (Brandon), Andrea Simpson (Ryan), and Blake Taylor (Kenlee); ten great-grandchildren, Parker Younse, Lily, Gilly, and Elly Washam, Greer and Griffin Tarver, Annie and Wells Beuford Pearce, Addilyn Nipper, and Finley Simpson; sisters, Ethelle Colvin and Sallie Chatham; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
