Funeral services for Betty Lou Tiernan will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 25, 2007 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Monroe. Officiating will be Rev. Dale Farley. Interment will follow at Monroe Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Mrs. Tiernan was born December 20, 1924 and passed away on January 20, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Tiernan, Sr. and her son, Joseph J. Tiernan, Jr. Survivors include her daughters, Joe Ellen Berger of Albany, NY, Patricia Dunlap and husband David of Monroe and Tina Graham and husband Lee of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Robert Cook, Beth Dunlap, Lisa Jo Harden Gerald, Kristin Graham, Daniel Tiernan, Summer Floyd and Jennifer Tipton; four great grandchildren. Mrs. Tiernan worked in the mortgage banking industry for many years. She worked for American Bank, First Fidelity Mortgage, Troy and Nichols and retired at J.P. Morgan Chase. After her retirement, she went back to school at ULM to learn painting. She also enjoyed working in her garden. Pallbearers will be family members and friends. Visitation will be 5:00 8:00PM, Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at the funeral home and 1:00 PM until service time at the church.
