Funeral services for Betty Lou Odom will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Peniel Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 12:00 PM until service time. Rev. Dale Mercer and Tab Peters will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Betty was born December 15, 1935 in West Monroe and passed from this life on August 25, 2018 in Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie O. Anding and Myrtle S. Anding; sisters, Nell Manning and Lynn Young; and brother, Donald Anding. Betty Lou loved her family. Married to John Odom for 63 years, she spent most of those years as a homemaker. She was a fabulous cook and loved cooking for her family. She spent a lot of time in front of her sewing machine, as sewing was one of her favorite hobbies. She loved her family and friend yearly camping trips, where you could always find her with camera in hand. She loved taking pictures, documenting all her family memories being made. She was also a member of Peniel Baptist Church for over 50 years. She served many years there teaching Sunday School, helping with Vacation Bible School, and taking pictures organizing the church photo albums.
