Graveside services for Betty June Wade, 94, of Choudrant, LA., will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Culbertson Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Culbertson Baptist Church 3286 Hwy 151, Farmerville under direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville, LA.
On June 29, 1927, Betty June Frasier was born to Washington L. and Laura Sharpe Frasier in the Culbertson community of Lincoln Parish, LA. She was the 4th of their 6 children. At an early age, Betty June received Jesus as her Savior at Culbertson Baptist Church and was baptized in the fresh water spring across the road from the church. She graduated from Ruston High School in 1944. On December 6, 1947, Betty June married Glenn Norris Wade, son of Fred M. and A.O. Norris Wade of the D’Arbonne community. They were married for 55 years. Three children were born to their union: Teresa, Reita Karen, and Glenn Steven. Betty June excelled in her calling as a wife, mother, mamaw, homemaker, cook, neighbor and friend. She was released to her eternally heavenly home on August 11, 2021, at the age of 94 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 brothers, Ronald, W.L. and Kenneth, one sister, Ann Couch, and son-in-law Kenny Bowen. Survivors include her son, Steven Wade (Lesa); 2 daughters, Teresa Bowen and Karen Williams (J.N.); her sister, Nancy Inez Griffin and sister-in-law, Jerry Wade. Mamaw is survived by 8 grandchildren: Kelly Wade Bowen, Laura Bowen Williams (Timmy), Deanna Williams Sepulvado (Brian), April Williams Franklin (Wes), Wayne Williams (Jennifer), Heather Williams Fine (Cade), Tracey Wade Murphy (Jason), and Justin Wade (Courtney). She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren: Sydney, Mattie, and Thad Franklin; Dylan and Sara Fine; Faith and Emily Williams; Piper Bowen; Cooper and Anna Walker; Jay and Kaylee Murphy. The family of Betty June Wade want to thank her devoted caregivers for the last few years: Bonnie Miller, Becky Simpson, Hilda Tellis, Jenny Erwin, Doris Fields, Jessi Williams, and Mary Ford. With their help, she was able to remain at home for an extended period of time. We also thank Heart of Hospice and Arbor Lake Nursing home for their kind attention and care during her last days.
