Funeral services for Betty Jean Cooper, 89, of Dubach, will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 31, at First Baptist Church in Dubach. Interment will follow at Hamilton Cemetery in Dubach under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Visitation will be from 1-2 PM on Friday, May 31, at First Baptist Church in Dubach, LA.Betty Jean Cooper, age 89, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Stamps, Arkansas on November 26, 1929. She was a longtime active member of Dubach Baptist Church.Betty and her husband, Elgin, were successful chicken growers. Betty was also known as a great cook. Chocolate pies, egg custard pies, cotton pickin cake, and pound cake were enjoyed by many church and family members.She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who supported and helped family members. She enjoyed spending time with family and she loved the fellowship of a family fish fry.Betty was preceded in death by her husband Elgin Cooper. She is survived by her son, Raymond and his wife Mary Jo, her granddaughter Karen White and husband Ryan, her great-grandsons Dylan, Rylee, and Cameron White.
