Services for Betty Evaline Jones, 97, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 21, 2022 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home-Monroe with visitation from 10:00 A.M. until time of service. Father Whit Stodghill will officiate. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery, Monroe, Louisiana under the direction and care of Kilpatrick Funeral Home – Monroe, Louisiana.
Mrs. Jones was born on June 18, 1924 in Berkhamsted, England and passed away on March 18, 2022 in Monroe, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morriece “Reece” Henry Jones; parents, James Jesse and Evaline Ann King Breeze; siblings, Rodney Breeze, Peggy White and Paula Waldron.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Evaline Jones Joseph and her husband, Conrad, of Tulsa OK; granddaughter, Erica Evaline Joseph Brown and her husband, Matthew; great-grandchildren, Tucker Brown, Reece Brown and Isla Brown, all of Tulsa, OK; brothers, Michael Breeze, Peter Breeze, Jimmie Breeze, all of England; sisters-in-law, Frances Sparks and husband, Jim and Anne Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty and her husband and brother-in-law, JD Jones started Jones Curb Market in West Monroe. Many may remember her from radio commercials for Hiller’s Gift Shop and her assistance to many area brides with their selections. Betty is a member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church. Before her illness, she enjoyed performing with the line dancers, doing aerobics and attending the English Ladies Club.
The family would like to thank her niece, Gloria Stone Allen and friends, Betty Magee, Amy Estep and Rene Bonnet for helping make her later years an adventure. They are appreciative of the staff of St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Center for their devotion these past few months.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in her memory to the Little Light House, a school for young special needs children at 5120 East 36th Street, Tulsa, OK 74135.
