Funeral services for Bert Waldroup, 80, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe. Rev. Waymond Warren will officiate. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Bert is survived by his wife of 60 years, Pat Waldroup; two children, Ken Waldroup and wife, Debbie and Patty Barrett and husband, Travis; a sister, Elizabeth Schmitz; seven grandchildren, Jason Barrett and wife, Amanda, Jeremy Barrett and wife Angela, Jennifer Sanderson and husband, Adam, Jamie Fergerson and husband, Jimmy, Holly Powell and husband, Ryan, Ashlee Franks and husband, Landon, and Robbie Bentz; eleven great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Chlotield Rinehart; two brother-in-laws, John Wactor and wife, Cathy and Gene Haynes; along with several nieces & nephews . Bert served proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a supervisor at Central Oil and Supply and a member of Fair Park Baptist Church. Bert loved spending time with his family, whether it was at family gatherings, putting his carpenter skills to work or out on the lake fishing. Pallbearers will be members of the Encouragers Sunday school class at Fair Park Baptist Church. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Rosemont Assisted Living and Family Alliance Hospice and especially Kristen and Kandace for their care of Bert during his illness. Memorials may be made to the Provision Building Fund at Fair Park Baptist Church, 4412 Whites Ferry Rd, West Monroe, LA, 71291. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.
