Funeral services for Mr. Ben M. Winegeart, age 85, of Monroe, LA will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, July 19, 2010, in the Chapel of Parkview Baptist Church of Monroe, 1001 Forsythe Avenue, with the Rev. E. Whit Holmes officiating. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of Monroe. Mr. Winegeart passed away on Friday, July 16, 2010, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Monroe. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the USMC in the Pacific theatre during WWII. Being a local businessman in the building materials business in north Louisiana, he was active in his church home, College Place Baptist Church, as a deacon and Sunday school teacher for years. He was active in local civic clubs including the Kiwanis Club and served with the Gideons International in various lay ministries. In his later years, he became a member of Parkview Baptist Church and was a dedicated member of his Sunday school class. Mr. Winegeart was preceded in death by his wife, Edythe Juanita Morse Winegeart, and his daughter, Linda Gayle Winegeart. He is survived by his daughters, Rene Elizabeth Cascio and husband, Joe, and Patrice Sisk and husband, Charles all of Monroe; granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Sisk; grandsons, Mark Alexander Sisk, Joe David Cascio, III, Carter Christopher Cascio, and Benjamin Maher Cascio all of Monroe. He is also survived by brother-in-law, Max Fischel Waite of Houston, TX, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until service time in the Chapel of Parkview Baptist Church.
