Funeral services for Barbara “Mamaw” Russell, 75, of West Monroe will be 10:00 AM Monday, July 31, 2017 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe Chapel. Rev. Matthew Cunningham will be officiating. Burial will follow at Luna Methodist Church Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe. Barbara was born September 2, 1941 in Ouachita Parish and passed away July 28, 2017 in West Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, and 5 Sisters. She was a member of West Monroe Church of God where she taught Sunday School for over 40 years. The more Barbara had to cook for the happier she was and had a love for everyone. Her family was her passion. Barbara is survived by her husband of 56 years Reggie Russell; two children, Beverly Burnley and husband Kevin, and Pam Shields and husband Alan; two sisters, Geraldine Woman Lenard and Gaye Sikes and husband Mike; two brothers, Daniel Lenard and wife Norma and Jimmy Lenard and wife Betty Jo; 5 grandchildren, Brandon Marionneaux and his wife Arden, Chad Shields and wife Leann, Brooke Goforth and husband James, Andrew Shields and wife Ashley, and Hannah Lewis and husband Aaron, 4 great grandchildren, Emma Goforth, Andi Kate Goforth, Emory Shields and Ella Shields, and numerous nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be Brandon Marionneaux, Chad Shields, Andrew Shields, Aaron Lewis, Freddie Sweet, and Cooter Lenard.Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday July 30, 2017 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.

I am so sorry for your loss. Barbara was such a sweet lady. My husband, James Caples, passed away in 2007 but he grew up knowing Barbara and her family. I remember one time that James was in the hospital and she would come sit with him during the day. She will be missed and always remembered for her kindness.
