Marilyn lived across the hall from me my first year at Louisiana Tech. She was, with absolutely no doubt, the most genuinely kind, sweet person I knew and that Spring Break I went home with her to Alexandria and had a wonderful visit, even riding horses. February 26, this past week, was my 54th anniversary, my husband and I married within months of Marilyn and Don. I woke up the day before thinking about Marilyn and told Paul I was going to look to see if she might be on Facebook? The following morning I opened The Shreveport Times and saw her obituary. I felt stunned! I know her entire family is heartbroken, I can close my eyes now and remember her special caring personality and I'm sure she'll always be missed. I just wanted to write and say it was fun being young with her for awhile. Someone told me years ago that we shouldn't grieve a soul set free but I have found that to be easier said than done. Marilyn was a precious, happy soul. I tried to scan her 1965 Tech Lagniappe picture, she was obviously as pretty as she was sweet!
