Barbara Jean Brown passed away on April 26, 2020. Mrs. Brown was born on November 25, 1934.

Barbara loved New Orleans Saints football and the LSU Tigers. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and her sister. She loved playing Scrabble or any game and watching old movies and westerns. She retired as office manager, bookkeeper for Monroe Concrete Company.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Inez Brown; her brother, John R. Brown and her grandson, David Allen Crawford.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 61 years, George Owen Brown; Daughters, Jeanne Marie Brown, Pamela Brown Crawford, Delores Brown Rieger (Terry), and Patricia Lynn Brown; Sons, George Mitchell Brown (Elaine), and Allen Walter Brown (Lindy); Sister, Maxine Inez Brown Summers (Alan); sisters-in-law, Linda Brown Antley, Nell Brown Harrington, Dorothy Bridges Brown; brother-in-law, Rickey Lane Brown; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Active Pallbearers will be, Andrew Brown, John Rieger, Terry L Rieger, and Robert Rieger.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Nephews.

In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Ouachita Council on Aging or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Services are under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.

Mr George, Pam, Jeanne, Delores, Patricia, boys and grands, I am so sorry about the loss of Mrs. Barbara! Words cannot describe how precious her friendship has been over the years to my momma and our whole family! I think "back in the day" that Eunice and Barbara were like Lucy and Ethel- but I am absolutely sure that we only heard just a few of those stories. I get the feeling that there were many more pranks pulled that we never heard about! They had a friendship that spanned many decades and weathered the ups and downs of raising families and the hurdles of life..... Unfortunately they didn't get to see each other often but theirs was a friendship that with one phone call they could catch up like no time had elapsed. I'm sure there were many times where my spunky little Italian momma was calmed down by the soft, gentle voice of reason - her best friend Barbara! Mrs. Barbara was a beautiful lady with a heart full of love. Her sweet smile is something that I will always remember. I am saying good bye to her on behalf of my momma because my momma can't say it herself these days. I know if Momma could say she would tell you all how blessed she was to have Mrs. Barbara as her friend and she would tell "Ethel" to save a spot for "Lucy" in heaven!
