Barbara Ann Walker Smith, 84, of West Monroe passed away peacefully at her home November 23, 2020. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 3:00 P.M. at Hasley Cemetery Gazebo, Arkansas Road, West Monroe with Dr. Woods Watson officiating.
Barbara was born October 25, 1936 in Calion, Arkansas to Bob and Dortha Walker. After business college, she married Raydell and started a family. A dedicated mother first and foremost, she treasured her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barbara always put others first, and tried to look out for everyone else.
Barbara made many friends through the years while working at the Palace Department Store, Quality Stamps, and St. Francis Medical Center. After retirement, she enjoyed taking trips, especially bus tours with friends to many beautiful places around the US.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Raydell Smith; parents, Bob and Dortha Walker and grandson, Chris Crawford. She is survived by her son, Steve Smith (Susan) of Springfield, MO; daughters, Becky Roark (Robin) and Laura Crawford (David) of West Monroe; grandchildren, Jade Jared (Curtis) and Dustin Smith of Springfield, MO, Bobby Roark (Ariel), Ashley Taylor (Stephen), Lauren Knies (Evan), Colin Crawford and Chelsea Crawford, all of West Monroe; 7 great-grandchildren, and other cherished relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Owen Meyers and Louisiana Hospice for their exceptional care provided over the past few months. We would also like to extend a special thank you to her Sunday school class, neighbors and friends for the visits, cards and calls that brightened her days.
