Funeral services for Art Finley, 94, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 5, 2025 at Grace Baptist Church in Monroe. Bro. Ricky Baker, Pastor will officiate. A private interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park, Monroe, Louisiana, under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes, West Monroe. Visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
Art was born on February 7, 1931 in Belzoni, Mississippi and passed away on May 1, 2025 in Monroe. Art attended Central High in Franklin Parish and enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1948 to 1952. His deployments included Wichita Falls, Texas, Cheyenne, Wyoming, Bossier City, Louisiana, Aleutian Islands, Alaska and Columbus, Ohio. It was in Columbus, he met the love of his life, Patsy Kuhner. They met on a blind date and 3 months later they were married and celebrated 62 years together. Traveling was their way of making memories, seeing much of the United States and Canada.
Art was Head of Maintenance at Sear Roebuck in Monroe, until he retired in 1990. His faith journey began when he accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of 16 and later taught Sunday School to all ages for many years. He was one of the charter members of Grace Baptist Church, 42 years ago. Mr. Finley was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy J. Kuhner Finley; and parents, Arthur and Pauline Finley.
He is survived by his daughters, Marleen Hammons and husband John, Paula D’Ardenne and husband Richard; grandchildren, Kyle Hammons, Eric Hammons, Ben D’Ardenne (Rachel), Sarah D’Ardenne and Jordan D’Ardenne; great-grandchildren, Julia, Jackson and Clara D’Ardenne and Theo and Marlon D’Ardenne-Stapleton; brother, Jerry W. Finley and wife Penny; numerous nieces; and other extended family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be John Hammons, Kyle Hammons, Eric Hammons, Richard D’Ardenne, Ben D’Ardenne and Jerry Finley.
