AnnaLouise Freda Hubka was born in Durand, Michigan to Alfred and Freda Bussell on October 14, 1916. Her family included her sisters Henrietta and Violet and brothers Walter and Harry, all of whom are deceased. She died quietly on Thursday, June 23, 2011. AnnaLouise graduated from Capac High School where she was a member of the girl's basketball and track team. She graduated from Grace Hospital School of Nursing RN in 1938. She met Vencel Hubka and, after a whirl-wind romance, married in 1939, a marriage that lasted three months past their 50th wedding anniversary. While living in Louisville, Kentucky, their family grew to include two daughters. After several moves, they settled in Monroe, Louisiana. Over the years AnnaLouise, also known as Bess, worked for various physicians and at St. Francis Hospital. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for over 50 years. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she served in various capacities, including LWML and the Memorial Committee. She was an avid reader, loved working in her yard, and did both until well into her 90's. AnnaLouise is survived by her daughters Toni Jack Coble and Susan Quillman; grandchildren Jeff Sarah Coble, Todd Sarah Coble, Steven Casey Quillman and Margaret Quillman; 4 great-grandsons, 5 great-granddaughters, several nieces and nephew. Mother's ability to tackle life's challenges impressed more than one person at her last home at Avalon Place. Special thanks go to a particular nurse, LaTasha, for being such a significant person in mom's life and also to Kilya and her hospice nurse, Tina, who made mother's last weeks as comfortable as possible. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am Friday, July 1st at Trinity Lutheran Church in Monroe, Louisiana with Pastor Paul McComack officiating with interment following at Mulhearn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 until time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials are made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
