Heaven is rejoicing as Anita Baham Derbonne went home on March 15th in the Okaloosa Community. She was an Associate Professor of Education at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and an active member of FBC Monroe where she had served as Children≠s Minister and Prayer Chairman. She was involved in missions and loved the Seeker Springs Ministry. Her zest for life was an inspiration to everyone. Mrs. Derbonne is survived by two sons, Otis Lemie Derbonne and wife Faye of Plano, TX: Herman Jack Derbonne, II and Diane of Shreveport and two daughters, Dianne and Larry Carriere of Lafayette; Dale and Paul Robinson of Eros, LA. She has one surviving sister, Kitty Endicott. There are 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Jack Derbonne and two bothers, Don and O.W. Baham and her parents. A memorial service will be held in the main auditorium of First Baptist, Monroe, Sunday March 18th at 2 PM. Officiating, Reverend Terry Slawson, assisted by Dr. Alan Miller. Music provided by Tammie and Terry Slawson and Linda Mulhearn. Honorary Pallbearers: Gene Parker, Adam Bricker, Ragan Durham, Jack Walker, Tommy Chatham, Paul Cascio, Kenneth Wagley, Jim Creel, Steve Johnson, Richard Buck.
