Amy Leigh Myers was born on September 14, 1977, in Nashville, Tennessee. She lost her life as a result of an automobile accident near Carthage, Texas, on Tuesday, October 10, 2006. Amy graduated from Ruston High School in 1995. She was an honor graduate from Louisiana Tech University in 1999 with a degree in Computer Information Systems. Currently Amy was pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Houston. During her time at Lousisiana Tech, Amy was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and served as its president. For her outstanding contributions, she was awarded the Corre Anding Stegall National Leadership Award. She was the recipient of several scholarships and was named Outstanding Senior Scholar by the College of Adminidtration and Business. Amy has been an employee of ExxonMobile in Houston since her graduation and was currently a Team Leader in Global Information Systems. She has been a member of Second Baptist Church for several years. Amy was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and friend. She was loved by all who knew her. Her love for her God and Savior, her contagious smile, her sweet spirit, and her compassionate heart were evidnet in her daily life. Amy is survived by her parents, Dave and Cheryl Myers: one sister, Jennifer Michelle Myers and her fiance Troy Yates; her grandparents, Joe and Wilma Booles and Grace Myers; uncles and aunts, Bob and Suzanne Myers, Paul and Elaine Myers, and Francis and Judy Owings; and five cousins. She is also survived by her beloved pets, Ziggy and Roscoe. Preceding her in death were her grandfather, Charles David Myers, Jr., and her grandmothers, Doris Evelyn Markham and Helen Crosby Myers. Pallbearers are Michael Westmoreland, Stan Goykman, Bob Galvan, Trent Abbott, Troy Yates, and Harry Fristoe. Visitation will be at Kilpatrifk Funeral Home in Ruston, Louisiana, from 5-7 P.M. on Thursday, October 12. The funeral will be at Kilpatrick's at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, October 13.
