Funeral services for Mrs. Allie Edith Head, 83, of West Monroe, will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe with Rev. Mark Fenn officiating. Interment follows at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Calhoun under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Mrs. Head was born May 8, 1927 in Eros, La and passed away Dec. 13, 2010 in West Monroe after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Florence Mann, her husband, Samuel Durward Head and three brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Hightower and husband Ronnie; her son, Kenny Head and wife Linda; sister, Louise Fuller; brothers; Elton Mann and wife Voe, Joe Mann and wife Nellie Fay; grandchildren, Kim Wheelis and husband Waylon, Ron Hightower and wife Haley, James Brian Head and wife Tina, Misty Torres and husband Valdemar and 9 great-grandchildren; also by her special little dog, Mandy. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the friends and neighbors on Pelican Drive who helped Mrs. Head; Janice, Mike, Paul and Amanda, Monica, Kim, Rodney and Ricky. Also a special thank you is extended to the 4th floor North staff at and Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care Monroe for their care of Mrs Head. Pallbearers will be Lonnie Fuller, Mark Fuller, Ronnie Hightower, Ron Hightower, James Brian Head and Waylon Wheelis. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
