Funeral services for Aliene Lockwood Knowles, age 94, of Ruston will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Temple Baptist Church Chapel in Ruston. Officiating the service will be Rev. Larry Emory and Billy Claiborn. Interment will follow at Sibley Cemetery near Choudrant under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Mrs. Knowles was born October 15, 1918 and passed away April 1, 2013. She was preceded in death by a special Niece: Larinda Lockwood. NeeNee was giving joy and love to others right up to the end .Many days she would feel so bad she could hardly go but she would get up and put Tonie in her walker and take to visit the sick in nursing home. She would go up and down those halls till all there knew Tonie. Many of the patient begin to ask for him. Her life was a life of service. I know without a doubt when she stepped across that line she heard well done good and faithful servant. The family would like to thank the staff at Alpine Nursing and especially Tamara, the Hospice , Connie Kennedy and Special Friend Bill Brown who made NeeNee so happy in her last days. Thank you to her very dear fiend and neighbors Richard and Helen Irving. We were so grateful for all that willing help us. She is survived by her Siblings: Clara Lawalin of Jackson, MS; Billy Lockwood and wife Sarah of Chandler, TX and Frances Albritton and husband Harley of Downsville, LA; Special Nephew: Terry Lockwood and wife Michelle ; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to service time at the church.
