Mentia Alice Sandifer McCaskill was born on August 28, 1933, she was the youngest of twins, Alice and Prentice Alton Sandifer, to Lola Lee McLain, and Isaac Roy Sandifer in Mississippi. She was a child of God and a wonderful lady full of grace. Alice taught her children well. She was a daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, grandaunt, great-grandmother, friend, teacher, worker, mentor, only to name a few of the hats she wore. Alice was a member of the Hyde Park Baptist Church (ABA) of West Monroe, LA, Insurance Woman’s Association, International Order of The Rainbow for Girls, and Order of The Eastern Star. She loved to read, sew, cross stitch, crochet, paint on ceramics, make and quilt, quilts, camping, swimming, and hiking.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, James Harold McCaskill; parents, Lola & Roy Sandifer; siblings, infant Sister Sandifer, Willie Lee & Vivian Sandifer, Gervase & Beth Sandifer, Royce Earl & Jerry Sandifer, Mary & Grover Watson, and Alton & Barbara Sandifer.
Alice is Survived by her children, Dennis McCaskill and wife Delories of Belle Chasse, Louisiana, Lee Anne McCaskill Martin and husband Charles of West Monroe, Louisiana; grandchildren, Catinna Alice Roach of Belle Chasse, Louisiana, Jamie Lynn Shoffner and husband Rodney of Steens, Mississippi, Timothy Martin of West Monroe, Louisiana, Cory Martin and wife Skyla of Kirbyville, Missouri, Mentie Tindall & husband Timothy of Farmerville, Louisiana; great grandchildren, Jonathan Martin, Hannah Roach, Nathan Shoffner, Jude Roach, Garrett Shoffner, Trenton Tindall, Lillianna Tindall; many nieces, nephews and other cherished family and friends.
