Alice Coplen Nix Funeral services for Alice Coplen Nix, 73, of Farmerville, LA will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston, LA. Rev. Clarence Powell will officiate the service assisted by Rev. Kurt Auger. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery near Ringgold, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston, LA. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 PM on Monday, April 4, 2011 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston. Mrs. Nix was born in Bernice, LA on February 28, 1938 and died on April 2, 2011 in Farmerville, LA. She was a member of Paron Baptist Church in Sterlington, LA and was a retired nurse. She is preceded in death by her parents, Max E. Coplen and Esther Heard Coplen. Mrs. Nix is survived by her husband, Thomas E. Nix of Farmerville; son, Thomas E. Nix, Jr and wife Karen of Spring, TX; granddaughters, Bethanie, Megan, and Allison of Houston, TX; siblings, Mary Jo Johnson and husband Charles; Linda Stewart and husband Bob; Paulette Miller and husband Bobby; Judy Green and husband Mickey; Max E. Coplen, Jr. and wife Debbie; Mike Coplen and wife Teresa; Jennifer Thompson and husband Rob; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Nix's nephews, David Johnson, Keith Johnson, Mark Johnson, Chris Nichols, Luke Nichols, and Mickey Green, Jr. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital or a charity of the donor's choice.
