Funeral services for Alfred Louis George, 89, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 12:00 PM, Thursday, February 27, 2020 with Dr. Mark Fenn and Dr. Woods Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
Louis was born September 27, 1930 in West Monroe to William Bryan George and Rooney Rabalais George. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Yvonne George Bass; brothers David and Albert George; sister Marie George Lamb. Louis was the first and only speech and hearing therapist in Ouachita Parish Schools from 1957 to 1966. Then he served as elementary principal at Crosley and Highland Schools for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church West Monroe where he served as a Deacon for 60 years, and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed camping and gardening.
Louis is survived by his wife Voriece Dow George; daughter Jennifer George Bostick and husband Troy; son Bryan Dow George and wife Kimberly; grandchildren, Tara Ratcliff and husband Dustin, Josh Bostick and wife Morgan, Caleb Bostick and wife Brandy, Lacee Moorhead and husband Gabriel, Rachel , Austin, Tyler, and Abbigail George, Noah, Eden and Emily Bass; step-granddaughter Jamie Florentine and husband Kyle; great-grandchildren Arden and Asa Bostick, Daisy Ratcliff; son-in-law Sam Bass; brother-in-law Ed Lamb; and numerous extended family.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
