Albert Russell “Buddy” Walker, Jr Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston, LA Funeral services for Mr. Albert Russell “Buddy” Walker, Jr, age 90, of Ruston will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, April 15, 2011 at Grace United Methodist Church. Officiating the service will be Rev. Hulen Warren. Interment will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Mr. Walker was born April 14, 1920 and passed away April 11, 2011 following a lengthy illness. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Russell Walker, Sr. and Lula Harding Walker; brother, Floyd McRee Walker; sisters, Mildred Harris, and Harriet Smith. Mr. Walker was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where he served as chairman of the official board, Sunday school teacher, lay speaker, and in various other capacities. He was a Scout Master in Dermott, Arkansas and took troops to two National Jamborees. He loved his God, was a very devoted family man, a loving husband, and a great dad and granddad. He enjoyed his many friends and was always ready to be helpful in any way. He is survived by his wife of sixty seven years, Irene Bayless Walker; sons, Russell Bayless Walker, Richard Lee Walker Rick and Steven Carl Walker Steve and wife Jan; grandchildren: Steven Carl Walker, Jr, and Lauren Elizabeth Walker; nephews: Douglas Smith and wife Lana and their three sons, and Michael A. Smith and family; and niece: Libby Jacobi and son. Pallbearers will be Charles Hancock, Bob Franklin, Walter Haese, Joe Lynch, Lawrence Higginbotham and Harry Napper. Honorary pallbearers will be the Workers for Christ Sunday School Class. Visitation will be Thursday, April 14, 2011 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Grace United Methodist Church in Ruston.
