Funeral services for Mrs. Agnes Lucille Balch Harper, 86, of the Swartz Community, are at 2:00PM on Wednesday, October 13, 2010, in the First Baptist Church of Swartz with Rev. Jeff Smart officiating. Interment follows in Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Mrs. Harper was born on November 20, 1923 in Swartz, LA and passed away Sunday, October 10, 2010 in Monroe, LA. She was a dedicated wife and loving mother and will be dearly missed. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Swartz and was very involved with all activities of her church. She was a member of the Mer Rouge Chapter # 148 of the Eastern Star for 57 years. She served in different positions of Eastern Star. She was Worthy Matron, District Deputy Grand Matron and her last position held was Grand Representative to Delaware in Louisiana from 1987 to 1989. While her memory may have faded, her love for her beloved husband of 67 years, Jerried Strode Harper never died; they are now reunited after six months. Survivors include 3 daughters, Sylvia Harper Templeton and husband, Jr., Mona Harper Mizell, and Anita Harper; 5 granddaughters, Heather Mizell, Jessica McClusky Armstrong and husband, Scott, Shaunte Mizell LeGuin and husband, Brian, Amanda McClusky Kennedy, and Stephanie Perkins; 2 grandsons, Mitchell Perkins and wife, Kerri, and Jerried Ashley Mizell; 12 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Ashley Mizell, Mitchell Perkins, Brian LeGuin, Bob Stewart, Johnny Porter, and Scott Armstrong. Visitation is Tuesday evening from 5:00PM to 9:00PM at the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe, 1200 Lamy Lane, Monroe, LA. The family wants to extend a very special thank you to the staff of Avalon Nursing Home for their tremendous love and care. They also request that any memorial contributions be made to either the First Baptist Church of Swartz or the Alzheimer≠s Association.
