Zeke E. Tettleton Kilpatrick Funeral Home Farmerville, LA Funeral services for Mr. Zeke E. Tettleton, 80 of Farmerville, LA, will be held Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Farmerville. Officiating will be Rev. Kurt Auger, Rev. Roger Johnson, and Rev. David Martin. Visitation will be held Friday, July 12, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Church. Interment will be held at Farmerville City Cemetery in Farmerville. Mr. Tettleton was born on September 1, 1932 in Farmerville, LA, and passed away on July 9, 2013 in West Monroe, LA He was a lifelong resident of Farmerville, LA. Zeke graduated from Farmerville High School, LA. Tech University and La. State University. While earning his education, he was activily involved in the Automobile Business. Following graduation, two years was spent in the U.S. Army with approximately half of that time in Etain, France. Upon receiving an Honorable Discharge from the Armed Forces, Zeke returned to Farmerville and became active for approximately seven years as part owner and assisting in the management of Farmerville Manufacturing Company and producer of Yellow Pine Lumber. In 1962 he purchased a local insurance business which later became known as United Insurance Agency on November 1, 1964. At this time, Zeke became an employee of the Farmerville Bank, which later became known as First United Bank. He served in various capacities including President and CEO and a member of the board of directors until a merger was formed with Community Trust Bank on December 16, 2005. He then served as a employee and board member until retiring June 30, 2006. He was active for many years in a number of Civic and Professional Associations including the Louisiana Bankers Association, the Union Parish Chamber of Commerce, and Farmerville Lions Club. Zeke was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Farmerville. He served as a Sunday school teacher, church treasurer, and deacon. He was truly devoted to the Lord, his family, and his community. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Girlton Odom Tettleton and sister- in- law Kathy E. Tettelton. He is survived by his wife of fifty seven years Betty Jo Giles Tettleton of Farmerville, LA; son, Tim E. Tettleton and wife Tory of Farmerville, LA; grandson, Parker Tettleton of Portland, OR; brother, Robert L.Tettleton and wife Mary Sue, of Oxford, MS; Danny O. Tettleton of Farmerville, LA; sister, Jo Mary Smith, of Monroe, LA; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Don Wilkes, Mayor Stein Baughman Jr., Donnie Gates, Judge Jay McCallum, Fred Stewart, and Scotty Aulds. Honorary Pallbearer will be First Baptist Church Deacons, Men's Bible Class, Gary Cobb, Kerry Hill, Thomas Wade, and Steve Post.
