Funeral services for Mr. Yyvern Taylor 88, of Farmerville, LA will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Farmerville Church of Christ in Farmerville, LA. Officiating will be Ben Walker. Interment will follow in Concord cemetery under direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville.
He is preceded in death by his wife Allie Faye Taylor, parents, Emmett and Harriet Taylor, 4 brothers, Jesse Lee Taylor, Grady Demoss Taylor, J.B. “Coot” Taylor and Wiley Darna Taylor, son, D. Barry Taylor and daughter-in-law, Connie Bennett Taylor.
Left to cherish his memories are his sons, David Taylor and wife Judy of Downsville, LA; Joey Taylor of Choudrant, LA; and daughter, Christie Reeves and husband Ken of Jonesboro, LA; 6 grandchildren, Katelyn, Michael, Julie, Adam, Tracy, and Mistie, and 5 great-grandchildren; two sister-in-laws, Aunt Jeanette and Aunt Lou Nell and numerous nieces and nephews.
Yyvern was a longtime member of the Church of Christ and was with the Union Parish Assessors Office for many years retiring as Assessor. He was also a past member of the Farmerville Jaycees and helped established the Watermelon Festival and Beauty pageant. Mr. Taylor was also instrumental in the first home mail delivery in Farmerville. After retirement he was passionate about woodworking.
