Funeral services for Willie Laverne Williams Barr Bierstedt, 83, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe, Louisiana. Bro. Ricky Baker will officiate. Interment will follow at Halsey Cemetery in West Monroe, Louisiana, under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes, West Monroe. Visitation will be held prior to service, from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Willie Laverne was born September 15, 1941, in Lake Providence, Louisiana, and passed away on September 29, 2024, in Lafayette, Louisiana. She graduated at Baylor College of Medicine, with a degree in x-ray technology. Willie Laverne retired from the medical field after 40 years of service. She had unconditional love for her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Willie Laverne was a “do it yourself” kind of person. She loved her dogs. She is preceded in death by her son, Daniel Ray Barr, Jr.; parents, Luther G. Williams, Sr. and Fannie Evelyn Colburn Williams; siblings, Robert B. Williams, Mary Madaline Williams Primm, Marie Williams Whitehead, Allie Mae Williams Patrick, and Cora Lee Williams Kelley.
Willie Laverne is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Dianne Barr Fitzpatrick and husband Jack; son, Tracy Noble Barr and wife Rebecca; granddaughters, Christina Nolan, Katey Barr Cowling and husband Jacob, Chelsea Rae Monnin and husband Dusty, and Traci Nicole Plaisance and husband Dylan; 9 great-grandchildren, Anthony, Landen, Carter, Dax, Briley, Clara Lynn, Nikolai, Henry, and Kevin Trace; brother, Luther G. Williams, Jr. and wife Shela; and best friend, Susan Messick Morris; along with other extended family and friends.
