William Ricky Bradshaw, 68, of Haile, Louisiana, passed away on February 16, 2025. He was born on April 12, 1956, in Marion, Louisiana, to Margaret Johnson-Adams and Bill Bradshaw. A proud graduate of Linville High School, Class of 1974, Ricky was a longtime member of Haile Baptist Church, where he joyfully sang in the choir, often accompanied by his daughter and family. His love for music and faith went hand-in-hand, bringing him great joy in using his talents to praise the Lord.
Ricky, known by many as “Hopper,” had a diverse career, working as a crane operator in Grand Isle, a gas field roughneck, a Service Expert at Sears, and, most recently, as a tanker truck driver for John N John Inc. His musical passion led him to be part of many local bands where he sang and played guitar. In his later years, Ricky enjoyed spending time with his many friends and taking annual trips with his siblings. He often found peace by the lake with Grafton and Lisa, watching the moon shine over the water.
Ricky’s most cherished role, however, was as “Poppy” to his grandchildren, Ben and Charlotte, whom he adored beyond measure. He was exceptionally proud of his daughter, Kaci, who owned his heart from the moment she was born. Ricky had a unique sense of humor, always a bit goofy, which he passed down to Kaci. He loved life, never met a stranger, and brought joy to everyone he encountered with his infectious smile and warm, bear-like hugs.
Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Bill Bradshaw; his mother, Margaret Adams; his brother, Rusty; his step-father, George Adams; and his brother-in-law, Sammie Pace. He is survived by his daughter, Kaci Bagley and her husband Max; his grandchildren, Ben and Charlotte Bagley; his three sisters, Sandra Bradberry (Kirk), Kathy Owens (Jerry), and Theresa Pace; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and many dear friends. Ricky’s absence leaves a void in the lives of those who loved him, but his legacy of love and laughter will live on.
