Funeral services for Randy Smith, 70, of Rocky Branch, LA will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday November l6, 2024 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Casey Chapman officiating. Interment will follow at Rocky Branch Cemetery, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes, West Monroe. Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M. prior to service at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Randy went to his heavenly home surrounded by his wife and their three children in Houston,TX on November 10,2024. He was born in Monroe, LA in 1953 to Reginald Smith and Barbara Turnage Smith. Randy attended Rocky Branch School and graduated from Farmerville High School in 1970. Randy was an avid fisherman and any spare time was spent on the water, whether it be the lake or the bayou. He loved the thrill of catching a big one. Randy had a sense of humor like no other and a laugh that was truly contagious. If you spent any amount of time with him, a good laugh was guaranteed. As a young adult Randy was an excellent carpenter. He spent many years working on the pipeline and has made so many friends that have become more like family over the years. Randy retired as a purchasing agent for Precision Pipeline in 2019. Randy rarely missed a weekly card game with his buddies and brothers or a double date night with his dear friends, Bimbo and Venessa Chapman. Randy married the love of his life, Katherine Smith, on September 15, 1978. The two of them shared 46 wonderful years together and had three children.

Randy is survived by his wife, Katherine Guice Smith; three daughters, Ginger Brown and husband Brad, Leah Fryday and husband Brandon, Haley Halley and husband Clint; son, Will Smith and wife Courtney. He was “Pappy” to Jolee Ledoux, Carson Halley, Wyatt Halley, Cason Brown and Chloe Brown. He was also “Dad” to his beloved dog Piper.

Randy is also survived by two brothers, Phillip Smith and wife Pam, Tracy Smith and wife Donna; one sister, LaJuana Chapman; two aunts, Charlotte Beaird and Sarah Smith; mother-in-law, Mattie Guice; sister-in-law, Carol Rhymes and husband Bubba; sister-in-law, Pattie Butler and husband Ronnie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Reginald Smith and Barbara Turnage Smith; grandparents, Truman and Myrtis Smith and Gladys McPherson and Arvis Turnage; aunt, Marilyn Smith; uncle, David Beaird, Jr.; father-in-law, Clarence Guice; and beloved pet, Sydney.

Pallbearers are Bimbo Chapman, Dale Burford, Clint Halley, Brandon Fryday, Wade Chapman, and Joe Carter.

Honorary pallbearers are Phillip Smith, Tracy Smith, Jimmy Chapman, Tony Williams, PeeWee Spillers, David Kidd, Joey Barkley, and David Beaird, III.
