Graveside services for William Ober, 83, will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, November 15, 2021 at Riverview Cemetery, Monroe under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Monroe.

William “Bill” Ober was born February 6, 1938 and passed away on November 9, 2021. Bill was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Monroe. He retired after 40 years at the Louisiana State Highway Department. Bill was preceded in death by his parents William Augustus Ober and Mary Vernice Haynes Ober and his wife, Rachael Ober.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Terri Ober Prophit and significant other, Emmett LeBrun; son, Doug Ober; grandchildren, Breanna Young and husband Orum, Heather Darden and husband Dolph, Morgan Ober and husband Matthew Gray, Will Ober and his significant other Faith Bodiford; twelve great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and other cherished family and friends.

All those in the memorial tombs will come out,(John5:28,29). What a happy time that will be.

So sorry to hear of your lost. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. He was a really nice man and we enjoyed knowing him while living in Monroe.

I spent many hours with Bill, since we were both clerks/secretaries in the Church at the same time, during the Bishoprics of Bob Speed, Orum Young, Dixon Abell, and Dan Holt. He was such a great man and a wonderful friend. From my time with him, from 1989 to 2002, I learned that people like Bill was what The Lord's church is made of.

Mr. Ober was such a fine person. Always had a smile. So sorry for your loss. Truly an honor to have known this kind gentleman. Kay Clark
