William “Bill” Montgomery, age 75, of West Monroe, LA made his final journey home to be with the Lord on April 25, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 26, 1947 to Johnnie and Bill Montgomery, Sr. in Bastrop, LA.
Bill was a practicing CPA for many years before becoming one of the founding partners in Long Distance Savers in the 1980’s. His greatest satisfaction came in the late 90’s when he was asked to serve on the Task Force for The Pentecostals of the Twin Cities, who oversaw the building of the Family Life Center and later the new sanctuary on I-20. He also served as a Board member for many years. He loved his church and delighted in maintaining the network infrastructure.
He is survived by his loving wife Judy; two sons & their wives, Neil & Holly Montgomery of West Monroe, LA and Michael & Andrea Montgomery of Austin, TX; three grandchildren Madison Montgomery, Nicholas Montgomery and Brayden Montgomery; his mother Johnnie Laing of Bastrop, LA; one brother David Laing & wife Gaye of Bastrop, LA; two sisters Linda Oldham & husband Marley of Mer Rouge, LA and Lori Gean & husband Rusty of Collinston, LA; numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill is preceded in death by his father Bill Montgomery, Sr.
Visitation will be Friday, April 28 at The Pentecostals of the Twin Cities in West Monroe from 5-7 PM. Funeral services will also be held at the church on Saturday, April 29 at 10 AM with Pastor Jason Ramsey and Bishop Mark Foster officiating. Burial will be in Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens in West Monroe, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes. Serving as pallbearers will be Charles McQuillin, Ronnie Kennedy, Wayne Whitman, David Wiltcher, Jay Copeland and Chance Caston.
