Interment will follow at Lisbon Cemetery in Lisbon, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.William Ardis Lowrey was born August 21, 1929 in Lisbon, LA to Irene Clements and William Herbert Lowrey and passed away January 13, 2015.Mr. Lowrey owned his own company, DDC Pertec, in San Diego with branches in Chatsworth, CA, Tucson, AZ, The UK, France and Germany. He retired in Shreveport where he gardened and worked on genealogy before moving to Dubach in 2006. Mr. Lowrey was a member of Sons of Confederate Veterans, Ruston Camp, National Rifleman Association and the United Methodist Church in Lisbon. He loved Big Band Music, Dixie and Bluegrass Music. He also loved to dance, work in his garden, and enjoyed researching his family history.He is survived by his wife: Frances Jean Lowrey of San Diego; sons: Regan Lowrey of La Jolla, CA and Larkin (Colleen) of Houston, TX; daughter: Janel Lowrey of Los Angeles, CA; step-daughters: Denise Wayson of Jackson, FL, and Loriann Shook (Larry) of Bay City, MI; step-son: Joe Douglas of FL; grandchildren: Nicholas Wayson of FL, Preston Shook of MI, McKenna Shook also of MI, and Jolene, James and Joe Jay Douglas of CA; sister: WynEl Dodson (Glen) of Garland, TX; nephews: Tommy Dodson (Cindy) of TX, and Gary Dodson (Deena) of TN; sister-in-law: Virginia McKenzie (Don) of CA; cousins: Ron Clements (Cindy) of Shreveport, Marilyn Myers of Lisbon, Rebecca Earp (Wayne) of Bossier City; and John Lowrey (Kris) of Simi Valley, CA and very special friends: Glynn Aycock and Kenny Bettell.Pallbearers will be John Lowrey, Ron Clements, Tommy Dodson, Gary Dodson, Larkin Lowrey, and Regan Lowrey.Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenny Bettell, Ted Knowles, Glynn Aycock, John Stack, Donny Kimbell and Glen Dodson. The family would like to thank Dr. Osafo and his staff, the wonderful nurses at Green Clinic Surgical Hospital and the Professional Hospice Care nurses and CNA for their care given during his final days.Memorials may be made to the Confederate Memorial Hall Museum, 929 Camp St, New Orleans, LA 70130 or Wounded Warriors Project.
