A memorial service for Bill Kirby, 76, of Farmerville, LA will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA. Rev. Dale Oden will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday, from 2:00 PM until the service at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.Bill was the owner/operator of the Kirby Animal Supply and Kennel in Ruston, LA for many years. He followed in the footsteps of his father, Dr. TC Kirby, who began the business as Livestock Medicine Company. Bill loved animals and would always help family and friends. He enjoyed chatting with customers and friends that stopped by the shop. If you didnt start as a friend, you ended up being one. Bill enjoyed sitting by the lake and talking with neighbors about kids and life. Bill really enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest.Bill Kirby was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. TC and Mary Esther Kirby. He is survived by his children: Michael Kirby of Dallas, TX and Mary Catherine Kirby of Round Rock, TX; grand children: David Kirby of Dallas, TX and Ian Peters of Round Rock, TX; siblings: Charles Kirby of Canton, GA, Dorothy Kirby Taylor of Shreveport, LA, and John Kirby of Bulverde, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.The family asks that any memorials be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.Condolences may be left in Bill online guestbook at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com.
