Funeral services for William ¨Jake Jacobson, 80, will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 20, 2006 in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Officiating will be Rev. Marty Kutz and Rev. Eric Harriman. Interment will follow at Monroe Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Jake was born on January 3, 1926 in Antioch Illinois and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 18, 2006. Jake faithfully served his country in World War II on the battleship USS Maryland. He retired as a barge captain from Reading & Bates Drilling Co. and was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Andja Jacobson; sons, Gary ¨Jake Jacobson and wife Sue of Monroe, Denis ¨DJ Jacobson and wife Janice of Columbia; daughters, Gail Jacobson Duff and husband Randy of Pasadena, Texas; MaryAnn Jacobson Lloyd and husband Shad of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Tonya Jacobson of Monroe; 8 grandchildren, Denious, Sarah, Darren, Chris, and Melissa Jacobson; Stephanie and Travis Hardy; and Luke Lloyd; and 6 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Denious Jacobson, Darren Jacobson, Chris Jacobson, Paul Moore, Randy Duff, and Pete Kovata. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 20, 2006 from 10:00 AM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe until time of service.
