Vondee “Nanna” Burton

May 7, 1953 – December 13, 2024

A Celebration of Life service for Vondee Burton, 71, will be held at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Lincoln Parish Park. Rev. Taff Watts will officiate.

Vondee was born on May 7, 1953 and went to be with the Lord on December 13, 2024 in Ruston, Louisiana. Her joy in life was being with her family, fishing and growing plants in her garden. You could always find her sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee in her hand watching the birds and talking to her grandbabies. She had a devout love for the Lord and would share it with anyone who would listen. Vondee is preceded in death by parents, Robert Maxie Burton and Audrey Bush Burton; brothers Richard Burton, Tom Burton, Willie “Frank” Burton, Ronnie Burton; sisters Betty Bass, Doris Stem, Lavon Kelly, and Lenora Chiasson.

Vondee is survived by daughters, Deana Hoenke and husband Jody, Brandy Stephens; grandchildren, James Mobley and wife Hannah, Jessica Mobley, Destiny Stephens, Sarah Hoenke, Aaron Hoenke and wife Kaylyn, Jonah Hoenke; great-grandchildren, Piper, Brooke, Sophia, Dawson, Magnolia; brothers, R.N. Burton and Reggie Burton; sisters, Elaine Gilbert and Bess Burton; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Allegiance Hospice, especially nurse Kim and social worker Maggie.
