Funeral services for Viola Ruth Walls Hutson, who died January 13, 2014, will be held at 10 am, Thursday, January 16, 2014 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe, La. with Travis Arrant and Jerry Keene officiating. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe. Mrs. Hutson was born April 13, 1931 in Walhalla, North Dakota to Charles Eli and Blanche Johnson Walls. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, John L Hutson, Jr., her parents and her brother, Carl. She was very active in her church and the Cheniere Extension Homemakers Club. Her special interests were her gardens, especially daylilies, sewing, making special quilts for her family, traveling and wonderful cooking for her family and friends. Until her health failed, she was always seeing to the needs of others.Mrs. Hutson is survived by her son, John Randall Hutson of Houston, Texas; her daughters, Brenda Adkins and husband, Blaine of West Monroe; Lori Hutson of Baton Rouge, La; and Judy Poole and husband, Donald of West Monroe; granddaughters, Kristin Bryan and husband, Craig; Laura Adkins, and Lindsey Hutson; grandsons Joseph Adkins, Jesse Adkins and wife, Emily and Ben Adkins and wife, Melissa; and her two great granddaughters Payton and Paisley Adkins. Mrs. Hutson is also survived by her sister, Hazel Walls Centanni of West Monroe, her brother James Walls and wife, Kay of League City, Texas and her special niece, Kathy Walls Reeves and husband, Tim of Langhorne, Pennsylvania.
