Vince’s family was the most precious part of his life. He was especially close with his mom and dad. He considered his dad his best friend, golf buddy, and advisor. His mom was his rock. Vince’s son Connor was the greatest love of his life, and nothing brought him more joy than spending time with him. He loved sharing his passion for playing sports and games with his young son. Vince will be remembered by all who knew and loved him for his magnetic personality and winning smile. Vince’s nieces and nephews knew “Uncle Vinnie” as the life of the party, especially if there were a swimming pool, go-cart, scooter, or X-Box around. The family is forever grateful to his girlfriend, Sona Patel Deck, for her unyielding love, kindness, and support over the last two years.
Vince’s big, encouraging heart and his gift for uniting people was never more apparent than during his time playing quarterback for his high school football team. It was here that he cultivated his lifelong qualities of compassion, leadership, fierce loyalty, and generosity. This was also the time that Vince suffered many concussions, which resulted in lifelong struggles with mental health. The family has donated his brain to the University of Texas Southwest Medical Center Neuroscience Hospital in Dallas for Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy research. For those who prefer to donate to a charitable cause in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The O’Donnell Brain Institute at University of Texas Southwest Medical Center to continue to support this important neurological research on the lasting effects of CTE: https://engage.utsouthwestern.edu/donate-now or P.O. Box 910888, Dallas, TX 75391-0888.
