Thomas Malcom DuBose Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston, LA LAFAYETTE — Thomas Malcom “Tom” DuBose, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Louisiana Heart Hospital in Lacombe, Louisiana. Funeral services, officiated by Pastor William C. Willis of Alabama Presbyterian Church in Choudrant, Louisiana, will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be observed prior to the services from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with burial following the service. Mr. DuBose was born on August 22, 1936 in Monroe, Louisiana and received his B.S. Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana Polytechnic Institute now Louisiana Tech. Tom lived in south Louisiana since 1968 and worked for several companies in the oil field management industry. He was also heavily involved in the Boy Scouts of America where he served as Assistant Scout Master, Scout Master, and on the Board of Directors of the Evangeline Area Counsel. Tom was a life board member, and his son was an Eagle Scout. Mr. DuBose loved the LORD and was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Lafayette, Louisiana. He later served as an Elder at Trinity Presbyterian Church, where his most memorable project was being involved in the construction of the sanctuary. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. DuBose was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Bobbie Jean Johnson DuBose, his parents Talliaferro McFerrin DuBose & the former Mattie Elizabeth Hinton and his sister Mary Nan McClelland. Survivors include his brother, Mike DuBose & wife Cheryl and his brother-in-law Jack McClelIand. He is also survived by his children: Cindy Accardo and husband, Angelo; Thomas Edward “Ted” DuBose and wife, Kim; and Betty Dennis & husband, Kevin. He was also blessed with several adoring grandchildren: Christy McQueen & husband, Sean; Thomas Anthony “Tommy” DuBose & wife, Kellie; Jamie Chamberlain & husband, Jared; Rebecca Fairburn & husband, Rob; David Accardo & wife, Amanda; Tim Meade, Michael Meade, and Olivia DuBose. In addition, he had three great grandchildren: Lucy Fairburn, Andrew Chamberlain, and Thomas Barkley DuBose. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who had a passion for life and absolutely adored his family. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him and were privileged to hear his “stories”. The family would like to thank the many doctors, their staff, and the home healthcare nurses who have cared for him over the years. The family would also like to personally thank the doctors and nurses at the Louisiana Heart Hospital who took such great care of him during his last days.
