Funeral services for Thomas Lee Linder, 55, are 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 25, 2012, in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Bro. Mike Reynolds, Bro. Neil Everett & Bro. Tom Lowe will officiate. Interment will follow at Indian Village Cemetery, Calhoun, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Mr. Linder was born January 9, 1957, in Monroe, LA and passed away on September 22, 2012, in Monroe, LA. He worked in construction for many years and then went to work with Ouachita Parish Fire Department. There he worked his way through the ranks to make District Chief. He had a passion for horses and one of his favorite pastimes was trail riding. He was preceded in death by parents Leon and Lizze Mae Linder, and brother, Edwin Linder and wife, Freddie. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Connie Linder; 2 daughters, Jessica Canales and husband, Mathew, and Laura Linder; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Riley Canales; and one sister, Nancy Formey; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; and, loyal companion, London. Pallbearers will be fellow firemen of the Ouachita Parish Fire Department. Special thanks to MICU Staff at S.F.M.C. for their care during Thomas's illness. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Muscular Dystrophy Association. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 PM Monday, September 24, 2012, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.

I AM SO SORRY ABOUT THE PASSING OF THOMAS. I WAS 10 YEARS OLD WHEN THOMAS WAS BORN AND CAN STILL REMEMBER HOLDING HIM WHEN HE WAS A BABY DOWN BY THE POND. I WILL NOT FORGET AND I SPEAK OF OFTEN " THE BIG VOLLEY BALL " GAME WE HAD ON ONE OF MY FEW VISITS AND PLAYING UNDER THE LIGHTS AND THE NEIGHBORHOOD CROWD IT GREW. I BELIEVE THOMAS GREW TO BE A FINE MAN AND HUSBAND AND FATHER,THAT WAS PROVEN BY THE CROWD THAT RONALD TOLD ME WAS AT THE SERVICE. I KNOW LOST AFTER LOSING OUR SON 4 MONTHS AGO AT AGE 36.
