Funeral services for Mr. Thomas H. Kelley, age 78, of Ruston, LA will be held on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Temple Baptist Church. Rev. Dale Oden and Rev. Lynn Hawkins will officiate with burial to follow at Pines Memorial Gardens in Ruston. Mr. Kelley was born on April 21, 1933 in Pineville, LA and passed away on March 21, 2012 in Ruston, LA. He was a graduate of Bolton High School in Alexandria, served his country in the US Navy, the US Naval Reserves, and was a graduate of Northeast Louisiana University with a degree in Pharmacy. During his early years, he was an active Boy Scout earning his Eagle Scout status. Mr. Kelley was issued his first license as a Registered Pharmacist in June of 1960 when he soon owned and operated Kelley's Pharmacy in Monroe until 1965. He then moved his family to Ruston where he became the first Chief Pharmacist at Lincoln General Hospital in 1966. He remained there until his retirement in 2000 following 34 years of service. Mr. Kelley was a Past President of the North Louisiana Society of Hospital Pharmacists as well as an active member of Temple Baptist Church in Ruston. He was preceded in death by his wives: Martha Ann Kelley in 1988, and Mary Roz Kelley in 2010. He is survived by his sons: Keith Kelley of Ruston; Ken Kelley Anna of Cleburne, TX; Kyle Kelley Tricia of Ruston; six grandchildren: Jeremy Hite, Jacob Hite, Justice Kelley, Jenna Kelley, Joshua Kelley, and Bella Kelley; sister: Bettie Anderson of Baton Rouge; and nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Pallbearers will be: Truman Potts, Bruce Roberts, Bobby Crouch, Jimmy Lane Davis, Mark Deason, Wayne Causey, Jeremy Hite, and Jacob Hite. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Lynn Hawkins' Sunday School Class. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Bill Haley and Dr. H. Gordon Deen at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida for their care during his recent surgery. Thanks also to Dr. Ensminger, Dr. Byrnes, and all the nurses and therapists at Best Home Health during his recent illness. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012 from 5 – 7 P.M. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Temple Baptist Church Building Fund or to the charity of the donor's choice.
