Surrounded by family and friends, Mr. Thomas Tommy Balsamo passed away on Monday July 22, 2013 at the age of 71. Tommy was born to Matthew and Audrey Mae Balsamo on August 28, 1941 in Monroe, LA. He was surrounded by 15 siblings. Tommy was raised in a loving home, where he was instilled with strong work ethics and a passionate love for his large family. On May 23, 1964, Tommy started his life with his true love, Mary. With over 49 years of marriage, he honored his wife and the commitments he made in their marriage vows. Tommy provided for his family with an impressive 42 years of service with Evans Oil Company. He was a born again Christian and member of Cypress Street Church of God. Tommy was a hardworking family man who touched and influenced many lives. He spent his free time creating beautiful memories with his family. He truly enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow into well behaved, responsible teenagers who he was very proud of. His wife describes him as a sweet, loving kind, and selfless husband. Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Mary Balsamo; two adoring sons, TJ and wife, Ashly and Randy and wife, Judith; two precious grandchildren, Abigail and Tanner, and eleven siblings, Steve, Edgar, John, Leo Willis, Rodger, and Allen Balsamo, Gene Richey, Sally Patrick, Gloria Sims, and Ann Conville. His death was preceded by his parents, Matthew and Audrey Mae Balsamo; Stepmother Myrtis Balsamo; and four brothers, Frank, Vincent, D.C., and James. Pallbearers will be Justin Allen, Mitchell Balsamo, Michael Balsamo, Darren Balsamo, Hank Crisceol and D J Patrick. Honorary pallbearers will be Zachary Allen and Trey McClain. Visitation will be held at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe. All family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 25, 2013. Burial will proceed on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 3:00 PM, along with a graveside service at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, LA with Rev. Dennis Anger officiating.
