Funeral services for Thomas Alber “Jack” Hammons, 84, of Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe with Pastors Jim Ragsdale and Butch Pilcher officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Mr. Hammons was born on July 10, 1927 in Start, LA and passed away on October 24, 2011 in Monroe, LA. “Jack” was a retired appliance salesman at Sears, a US Army veteran of the Korean War, and a member of New Destiny Assembly of God. He was a well known local country and gospel singer who was an opening act on the Louisiana Hayride for many entertainers, including Elvis Presley, Red Foley and others. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter: Amy Hill; and six brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 64 years: Delores Rae Skiles Hammons; children: Donna Price and husband, David, Stephen Earl Hammons, and Wendy Alexander and husband, Ron; grandchildren: Sean Hammons and wife, Tara and Brooke Hammons; great grandchildren: London Hammons and Taylor Hammons; brother: Tommy Hammons; sister: Lucille Outz; and a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.
