Funeral services for Thelma “Puddin” McGee Kelley, 91, of Bernice LA, will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church in Bernice with Bro. Charles Malone and Lamar Skinner officiating. Interment will follow at Bernice City Cemetery in Bernice, LA. Puddin was born on May 30, 1922 in Bernice, LA and passed away on August 8, 2013 in Ruston, LA. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Bernice. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Charles H. “Chip” Kelley III, one sister, and two brothers. Puddin Kelley was an avid sports fan. She loved Lady Techster Basketball. She loved the Senior Olympics, in which she won over one hundred medals. Puddin was a great cook, especially desserts. She would eat the dessert before the meal. But most of all, she was a great mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Puddin will be greatly missed by her family and the coffee drinking ladies. She is survived by her beloved husband of 72 years, Major Charles H. Kelley, retired U.S.A.F. of Bernice, LA; son Pete Kelley and wife Anne of Ruston, LA; daughter Kathy Kelley-Smith and husband B.W. of Gurdon, AR; son Kim Kelley and wife Anita of Bernice, LA; son Kasey Kelley and wife Pam of Farmerville, LA; grandchildren, Sterling Grafton Jackson, Kelley Wayne Grafton, Kandi Kelley Collins and Klint Kelley; and seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mike Kelley, Jimmy Tubbs, Barry Kelley, Phil O'Bannon, Thomas Marsh, and Eddie Lee. Honorary Pallbearers will be Hugh Tubbs and Kirt Touchstone. Visitation will be held Friday, August 9, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Bernice. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
