It is with heavy hearts that the family of Thelma Doris Hales Moon of Natchitoches, Louisiana announce her passing. Thelma was born December 29, 1925. She went to be with her Lord on July 15, 2019.A dedicated wife and mother, a wonderful friend, Thelma leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love for her family, the joy she shared with others, her infectious smile and her strong faith. Thelma was a gifted musician, an amazing cook and a wonderful woman to everyone who knew her.Thelma is preceded in death by her parents Ola Jane Gray and Alex Addison Hales, brothers and sisters Luther, Ralph, Carl, Myrt, Cecil Hales, Bernice Walters, Louise Gibson, Grace Crawford, her husband Emory Victor Moon, Sr. and granddaughter Jamie Leigh Caldwell Albritton.Thelma (Mom, Momma, Granny) will be dearly missed by her children; daughter Sherry and Buster Thrasher, son Sandy and Linda Moon, daughter Vicki and Tommy Caldwell; her grandchildren; Shelly and Mike ONeil, Greg Albritton, Brad and Carrie Caldwell, Tammy Powell and John Powell; her great grandchildren, Abbie, Nicholas, Emrie, Edyn, Creed, Cole, Clay, Josh, Dominic, and Savana. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Married for 67 years, Thelma and Emory were a Navy family who served our country for 28 years. After retirement, they moved to Farmerville, Louisiana to continue serving their community as Sears merchants for many years. Thelma became very involved and loved her years in the Order of Eastern Star. She held many positions during her years including being Grand Organist for the state of Louisiana. Visitation will be at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville, La. on Friday, July 19, 2019, from noon until the funeral service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Greg Albritton officiating.
