On October 16, 1965, Tammy Denice was born at Garnier Clinic to Billy A. McCready and Alma (Cricket) Nall McCready. They were told they would never have children so she was their miracle. Beautiful pink bundle, so long wanted and loved. Such a joy! My baby.
She grew up at Log Cabin in the home of her grandparents Cecil and Bonnie M. Nall. Surrounded by love. She attended Pine Grove Elementary School, Mitchell Jr. High, and in November 1970.Momma married Kenneth Wayne Porter and we moved to West Monroe. She attended West Monroe High School and graduated in 1983.
Tammy married Phillip Bandy in 1984 and had one daughter, Tanasha, in November 1985 who has blessed her with 3 beautiful grands, Dhayne, Sophia, and Alyse. Her special loves. Tammy worked in the clerical field for many years and loved numbers. As a special gift and surprise on her 21st birthday, she presented a new birth certificate to Kenneth-she had changed her name to Porter to honor him as he had raised her and to show her love for him. He was one happy man.
Tammy is preceded in death by her grandparents, James Cecil and Bonnie Marsh Nall; biological father Billy Arnette McCready; grandparents, David and Edna McCready; brother Terry Wayne Porter and a sister Cyndi Brown White.
Tammy is survived by her mother, Cricket Nall Porter and father Kenneth Porter; daughter Tanasha Porter Varino and son-in-law Richie Varino; grandchildren Dhayne Alyse and Sophia Varino; sister Stacy McCready Stroud; brother Brandon Arnette McCready; aunt “Mom Merle” Doggett; uncle Buddy Nall; her pal and doggy companion Kizzie was with her until the very end.
Tammy was known to love a good time and was sometimes the life of the party. She loved to laugh. She loved to ride Harleys and horses. Surely a light has forever gone from our lives.
Father God, thank you for the 56 years you let me be her mom. Kenneth loved her as his own child and she knew it. He spoiled her. He told her. He loved her first.
Serving as pallbearers will be James C. Nall, Jamey Nall, Clint Nall, Daniel Holloway, Pete Nall, and Dhayne Varino.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will Rickey Milton and Gabe Porter.
